First
day
|
|
Arriving at Delhi Indira
Ghandi International Airport, you will be picked-up by a representative
of the Shiv Shekhawati Hotel / Jamuna Resort of Jhunjhunu, the
Capital of the Shekhawati Area, Rajasthan.
(We would like to recommend you, to change some money yet at the
airport.)
You will be brought immediately
by Taxi to a Hotel in Delhi, where you will meet the other participants
of the Summer Academy. The costs for staying one night in the
hotel and the meals (except the drinks) are prepaid by the organizers
of the Summer Academy.

Second
day
|
|
Refreshed from your journey
to India, you will start the next morning to Jhunjhunu by Taxi,
together with the other participants of the course. After a journey
of about four and a half hours you will reach the Shiv Shekhawati
Hotel / Jamuna Resort, which both will be your home for ten days.
The lunch will be prepared this day for you by the kitchen staff
of the hotel.
After a rest of an hour we will show you your kitchen and introduce
you into the basic principles of the Indian Art of Cooking. You
will get a book with 100 most popular dishes of the Indian Cuisine
and an ABC of the spices used in our country.
After a visit to the local market each of the three groups (formed
by four participants of the course) will prepare an Indian dinner,
assisted by our staff.

Third
day
|
|
Indian breakfast, prepared
by the staff – spies are invited
After the breakfast we will pay a visit to the local spice traders.
For the lunch you will prepare “Dal”, Rice and “Chapati”, the
most important parts of North-Indian meals. (The staff of the
hotel will prepare the meat and the vegetables on this day.)
The dinner will be prepared this day by the three groups of the
participants of the course according to their choice.

Fourth
day
|
|
Each team consisting out of four participants will prepare a different local breakfast.
After the breakfast, we will make an excursion to the village
Birmi, where we will take the lunch in the house of a Brahmin
family. The meals will be prepared by the ladies of the house,
in a manner typical for the Shekhawati area.
Back to Jhunjhunu, we will take the dinner, prepared by the staff
of the Jamuna Resort.

Fifth
day
|
|
Different local breakfasts, prepared
the three teams.
For lunch the participants will prepare a meal of hunted meat
or fish, assisted by the staff people of the house.
The afternoon you may spend according to your own intension. Oil
Massage will be applied according to individual order.
For the dinner, which will be prepared by the staff of the resort,
we expect your individual orders in advance.

Sixth
day
|
|
The breakfast will be prepared
this day by the three teams individually.
A Rajasthani Lunch will be prepared together by the three groups
of participants.
In the afternoon we start for a visit of Mahansar Fort. The Maharaja
of Mahansar himself will introduce the participants in the art
of Royal liquor production and will host our group for the dinner
and the night.

Seventh
day
|
|
After spending the night
in the Fort and taking the breakfast with the Maharaja, we will
go back to Jhunjhunu.
For the lunch each of the groups will prepare a different meal,
as usually assisted by the staff of the resort.
The meals of the dinner may be prepared according to the choice
of each of the groups.

Eighth
day
|
|
The breakfast will be prepared
this day by the staff of the resort.
We make an excursion to the desert, where we will meet local people
who will prepare a meal of goat meat for the participants while
we make a tour on camel carts through the Desert, where we will
have a picnic. The dinner will be taken under the stars of the
desert together with the local hosts.

Ninth
day
|
|
The breakfast may be prepared
this day individually.
The Lunch will be prepared this day by the staff of the Resort.
The participants will be taught this day to make Indian Sweets,
Pickles and Massalas.
|

|
|
Tenth
day
|
|
The early breakfast will
be prepared this day by the staff of the resort.
We visit Jaipur, the Capital of Rajasthan. The approved tourist
guide
Laxman Singh Shekhawat will lead our visit to Pink City and the
participants will have the opportunity to look for souvenirs for
their family and friends at home.
The lunch we will take in the Royal Rambagh Palace, one of the
most reputed Five Star Hotels in India.
After the lunch the participants will have the opportunity to
visit places and shops individually.
At 6 p.m. we start our journey back to Jhunjhunu, where we will
take a late dinner, prepared by the staff of the resort.

Eleventh
day
|
|
Breakfast, lunch and dinner
will be prepared this day by the staff of the Jamuna Resort, to
give the participants the chance to prepare their journey back
home or to other parts of the country.
At the occasion of the dinner the participants will get their
Certificates, a box with a collection of Indian spices, a CD with
local traditional music, performed by Dhanji Bhopa and his wife,
known to the participants as the musicians of the Jamuna Resort.
If you will not make your mind, this will be your last night at
the Shiv Shekhawati Hotel.

Twelfth
day
|
|
“Good bye Jhunjhunu!”
After the breakfast, a Taxi will take you back to Delhi, the Capital
of India, if you like it, directly to the airport or you will visit other places in india according to your individual planning.
